This piece comes as a limited edition, folded up in a box. When you open it, it turns into a little triptych—a kind of miniature stage. In the middle, there’s a linocut print of a shape with a knitted pattern on a podium.
What I like in linocut is the deliberate choice of creating white by erasing matter, the deliberate choice in how far you show the traces of creating white by removing the lino material and making it really empty.
The thought of creating stage wings grew quite organically, I wanted these two flanks to resonate more. They are composed as a photo collage including a poem. Leaving in the middle whether the poem is a remark on the thing on the podium or coming from it. But for sure they reflect on power.
